Running the Numbers

I came across photographer Chris Jordan's work on PopPhoto.com and I was blown away. The environment and the global warming statistics have been very much on my mind having recently seen the 11th Hour (which I highly recommend as it was very uplifting and there were lots of great ideas).

Chris Jordan has visualized what everyone has been saying in a way that is amazing. It is so mind blowing that after looking at his photos you will without a doubt want to immediately change everything you do and live as green as possible.

I have been trying to do this in my business for some time by using sustainable goods such as making my silk screened t-shirts from bamboo and organic cotton, working with glass beads from Africa for my jewelry line made from recycled coke bottles, using an environmental house cleaning service called Green Clean. Soon I will have the Green Clean tip of the day.

Thank You Chris Jordan for making what everyone has being saying for years visual so people really understand what needs to be done. The images will captivate you and make you think. I think everyone should see his site and pass his work on to others. Here are a few:

Cans Seurat, 2007
60x92"

Depicts 106,000 aluminum cans, the number used in the US every thirty seconds.

Paper Bags, 2007

60x80"

Depicts 1.14 million brown paper supermarket bags, the number used in the US every hour.
